2014 Impala Undergoes Massive Makeover

May 17, 2013 in Impala

The past few months, as you may have noticed, have been extremely busy and exciting for Chevrolet. First came the unveil of the Corvette Stingray, then came the Camaro, and the SS, and now the Impala is arriving to dealerships all over the country. And not only are these cars being developed and introduced; these cars, I would argue, are the best they have ever been. Chevy isn’t just introducing new cars for the sake of introducing new cars. They are taking every single one of their cars, trucks, and SUV’s to the next level.

Now I know what you’re thinking. Of course we’re going to say that – we’re a Chevy dealership! Well then don’t take it from us. Take it from New York Daily News. Here’s an excerpt from an article they just recently did on the Impala:

“This is definitely not the Impala rental car you got saddled with during that last family visit to Florida, or the one driven by FBI agents hot on the heels of some TV crime series villain. Forget everything you used to know about the old Impala, because the new model is massively improved in every possible way.”

See what we mean? If you would like to take a 2014 Impala, or any other Chevy vehicle out for a test drive, stop by Royal Chevy today and see for yourself how Chevy has upped their game.

5 Things Your First Car Teaches You

May 2, 2013 in Dealership News

5 things your first car teaches you

Do you know what month it is? It’s May! That means we’ve got a whole new bunch of college graduates moving into the next stage of their lives here in the coming days. How exciting is that?

With that said, I think it’s a fair assumption that there’s going to be quite a few college graduates looking to make a rather large purchase sometime soon. That’s right – I’m talking about your first car. At least that was the case for me. Shortly after graduating I was in the market for a new car, so I would like to take this time to share with all you young grads out there what you can expect to learn from your first car.

Budgeting. Most of you probably already know this, but having a car opens up a whole new aspect to your finances. It is now your duty to fill up your gas tank and be ready to pay for any repairs should anything happen to your car. Make sure you have a rainy-day fund just in case you ever run over a nail, or need to fix a dent.

Self-Reliance. In many ways, your first car puts you in charge of many things. Whether you’re figuring out how to change your own oil, learning to read a map before a road trip, or changing your first flat, it’s all up to you.

Selflessness. Up until this point, you probably counted on other people to give you rides whenever you needed to get somewhere. Well, now it’s your turn. Be the one that offers to drive, and don’t be afraid to offer a jump-start to someone in need. Your car gives you a great way to help others.

Responsibility. Like I mentioned earlier, owning a car is a big responsibility. How so? Think about this. Every time you drive a friend, their life is basically in your hands. This is a very important thing to realize before getting your first car.

Joy. There’s no doubt about it – having a car is just fun. Sure, it can be stressful sometimes, but when you think of it, cars offer a lot of freedom. You now have the ability to drive anywhere you want (assuming there’s a road to get there). The bottom line is: have fun in your car and always remember to take care of it, and it will take care of you.

If you’re a recent graduate and would like some help picking out your first car, Royal Chevy would love to help you. Stop by today! Any one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales team members would love to help you out.

The 2013 Chevy Sonic: Safe and Efficient

March 20, 2013 in Chevy Sonic

When it comes to small cars, safety is usually not the best selling point. Why? Because small cars typically do not excel in the safety department. However, we are happy to say that this trend is changing with the 2013 Chevy Sonic. We think the New York Daily News sums it up best:

“Subcompacts used to be known for their safety issues, but with 10 airbags standard and 5 Stars earned on NHTSA crash tests, as well as being a 2013 Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the 2013 Chevrolet Spark shows that subcompacts can be safe.”

And the best part is, fuel efficiency is not sacrificed for safety. The Sonic still gets great gas mileage (40 MPG highway), with the ability to go up to 488 highway miles on a single tank!

We have several Chevy Sonics available at Royal Chevrolet right now. Stop by or give us a call to set up your test drive today!

The 2013 Sonic is available at Royal Chevy in Richmond.

Jeff Gordon and Pepsi Pull Off Prank-of-the-Year

March 14, 2013 in Camaro

It may not be officially ranked, but in our opinion, Jeff Gordon’s recent prank on an unsuspecting car salesman has got to be one of the best all time. If you haven’t seen it yet, you need to. This video is spreading across the internet like wild-fire, and for good reason. What’s better than watching a professional NASCAR driver, disguised as a sheepish dad, whip around the streets in a Camaro?

Like we said, if you haven’t seen this yet, you need to check it out. Enjoy!

If you would like to take a Chevy Camaro for a test drive, please feel free to stop by Royal Chevrolet or give us a call at 866-461-5208. Just please, whatever you do, leave this kind of driving to the professionals.

Chevrolet Drops the Top on the New C7 Corvette

March 5, 2013 in Corvette

Before we say anything in this blog, can I just ask everyone to stand up where they are and give the designers and engineers over at Chevy a round of applause? Seriously! These guys deserve some recognition. It seems like Chevrolet has unveiled a new or redesigned car ever week for the past few months, and this week was no exception.

Only a few weeks after Chevy revealed the brand new 2014 Corvette Stingray, they have now “dropped the top” on the Stringray and unveiled the convertible version. According to Consumer Reports, “Top-down motoring should add even more appeal to this promising car, which marks a more dramatic styling statement compared to the current C6 model.” Needless to say, all of us here at Royal Chevy are excited for the arrival of the C7 Corvette convertible, and we hope you are too. Now – go ahead and grab a napkin to wipe the drool off your face before scrolling down any further.

The 2014 Corvette will be available at Royal Chevy soon.

The 2014 Chevy Silverado: Extreme Weather Testing

January 29, 2013 in Silverado

A few weeks ago we did a blog post called “Chevrolet just Unveiled the 2014 Silverado” that showed a brief glimpse of what the new Silverado is going to look like, as well as a little bit of information about what we can expect from this new truck. And as great as that is, we know you’re still dying to learn more about the new Silverado and whether or not it has what it takes to handle the toughest jobs in the harshest conditions.

So with all that said, we’re happy to announce that in the coming weeks, we will be doing a video series of sorts featuring the new 2014 Chevy Silverado and some of the rigorous tests the engineers over at Chevy have put this beast of a truck through.

This week is the extreme weather test. Do you think the Chevy Silverado has what it takes to get the job done in freezing cold conditions? What about in intense heat? Check out the video below to see for yourself how the new 2014 Silverado holds up.

It’s pretty clear that the new 2014 Silverado is smarter, stronger, and much more capable. For more information on this, or any other Chevy vehicle, stop by Royal Chevy in Richmond, or give us a call at 804-521-5300.

Camaro: The Special Editions

December 12, 2012 in Camaro

There are few cars on the road today with as much history behind them as the Chevrolet Camaro. This legendary car, which was first developed back in 1967, has come quite a long way. And even though the Camaro was a top-performing car even in the early days, the special editions that are available today can beat most other cars off the line to say the least.

We currently have several special edition Camaro’s on our lot that we would love to show you and even let you take for a spin. If you’d like to schedule a test drive, give us a call at (804) 521-5300, or just stop by Royal Chevrolet in Richmond, VA today.

Introducing the Chevy Spark EV

November 16, 2012 in Chevy Spark

Woah, woah, woah. Does that say “EV”? Yes. Yes it does.

Earlier this week, General Motors announced that Chevy will be adding another electric vehicle to the lineup, and come mid-2013, when the Spark EV is expected to hit stores, no longer will the Chevy Volt be the sole face of electric powered cars for Chevy. According to GM Authority, an independent source for everything GM, says, “While appearing nearly identical to the gasoline version, the Chevrolet Spark EV does feature a few aerodynamic enhancements that are easy to spot with the trained eye. Look for a rear spoiler, smooth plates running along the underbody, active grille shutters, and smoothed-out front and rear fascias.”

Perhaps the most exciting part of this announcement are the new engine specs. When the Spark EV hits dealerships next summer, it will be a lot more powerful than its gas-powered brother. The Spark EV will have a 134 horsepower engine that produces 400 lb-ft of torque. Not too shabby.

If you would like more information on the 2014 Spark EV, or would like to take a Chevy Spark for a test drive, stop by Royal Chevrolet. We’d love to help you find the car of your dreams! The Chevy Spark will be available at Bob Montgomery sometime next year.

Make Strides Against Breast Cancer at Royal Chevrolet

October 26, 2012 in Dealership Sales

By now, most people know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. However, what you may not know is what Chevrolet is doing to help raise money to go towards breast cancer research. During the next 6 days (until the end of October) you can bring your car into your local Chevrolet service center for any kind of service, and when it comes time to submit your rebate, you can elect to donate all or part of that rebate to go towards breast cancer research, and whatever you donate, Chevy will match it.

In other words, if you come in to Royal Chevrolet and take advantage of our gas saver bundle, including an oil change, four tire rotation, and a 27-point vehicle inspection for only $39.95, you can elect to donate your $10 mail in rebate, and after Chevy matches that, $20 will be going to a good cause.

Make sense? Then what are you waiting for? Hurry in to Royal Chevrolet before the end of the month, get your car running strong again, and donate money to a good cause!

See you soon!
